ROCK YOU ALL NIGHT LONG

The first time he lays eyes on Taylor Ross in a bar, Colt Priestley does something few men would dare to do. He approaches the world-famous singer, shamelessly flirts with her, and gives her a night in his bed that neither of them will soon forget.

When Taylor's record label hires a bodyguard to keep tabs on the out-of-control rocker, she's less than thrilled to find it's her off-the-charts one-night stand who shows up for the job. She's terrified of letting herself fall for the damaged ex-Army Ranger, and she's determined to push him away. Yet every moment they're together simmers with tension. As the danger from an obsessed stalker mounts, Taylor and Colt are tempted to cross that line again-baring their hearts and souls as well as their bodies-and there's no telling how hot this song will get.

EXCERPT

From his little table in the corner, Ronnie adjusted his glasses as he watched Taylor walk out of the bar, her fingers laced with those of the brute whod intruded on them earlier. He finished the rest of his Coke and slammed the empty glass down. Possessive anger coupled with an almost blinding jealousy churned through him. Itd been hard to watch that interaction, and now she was leaving with him? Hed been much happier watching her while shed been alone, even if shed looked sad.
He knew he shouldnt have gone over and talked to her, but he couldnt help himself. Hed been warned, but no one knew what they were talking about. They didnt see. They couldnt see. He loved her, and she loved him. Soon, every- one would know, and everyone whod called him crazy and obsessed and delusional would fucking see.
Ever since hed first heard her sing, hed known he was listening to the future mother of his children.
He dropped a five on the table and pushed his way out of the bar, getting in his car just in time to follow Taylor. He had to. He couldnt let her go off alone with that brute, unprotected. And if she was going to betray him, he needed to know. He needed to see.
Because Taylor was his. Every part of her. Her gorgeous blond hair, those huge, blue eyes, the long, lean body. The incredible voice. The skilled hands. Her mind. Her soul. Her body.

She belonged to him.

3/5 Review: A SEAL's OATH by Cora Seton

Boon Rudman and his friends are retired Navy SEALs. They want to start a sustainable community to change the way the world uses energy. He agrees to do a reality tv show to show how he plans to build that community. The terms are that he has to find a wife and get her pregnant within six months. If he fails he loses his funding and the land he plans to use to build it on. He ends up running into Riley Eaton at the ranch already and figures with their past she would make a perfect bride even if they don’t love each other. He's determined to win her over and convince her that being his wife is in both of their interests.

Riley Eaton and her three friends quit their jobs and move out to a family owned ranch in Montana to live a simply life. Little did she know her uncle sold the family ranch without her knowledge. She's upset because the ranch was supposed to be hers someday. They decided to live a life right out of a Jane Austen novel. To take time each day to themselves to work on their life's passions. Things were going well until Boone showed up and told her what was really going on with the land and what his plans were for it.

************

Let me start off by saying I understand this is a fiction book. That being said, I thought some aspects of the book were a little farfetched even for a fiction book. I think it was mostly the main character that bothered me the most. Riley seemed like an intelligent woman until Boone showed up. The last time she saw him like 15 years ago he was a complete ass to her. She crushed on him when they were younger. So he shows up and within five minutes of him being there, he asks Riley to marry him! Okay, I get that with what he is doing he is on a time crunch but come on! She ends up saying yes! To me this seems like she is a bit desperate too. What woman agrees to marry a man that fast? If my high school crush came up to me on the street after not seeing each other since graduation and asked me to marry him I would laugh at him. So that's mostly why I gave this book a 3/5 rating. I know it's a romance book and people fall in love fast, but most don't agree to marry that fast. What if he changed in those 15 years and turned into some crazy person? It seemed like every little snag that came up in this book was followed by someone getting angry then being okay with it five minutes later.

I actually enjoyed Riley's friends. I would read more into this series just to see how things turn out for her friends as well. I know that they are going to fall in love just like Riley did, very fast. I just enjoyed their personalities more too.

I'm not a huge fan of the Regency era and this book focuses on that. I won't say anything negative about that because I know some people love the simpler life of that era. It's just not for me. I enjoy the modern day amenities. Riley and her friends enjoy it and do go all out to try and live like people would have in the past. I do commend them for doing that, I know I wouldn’t be able to give up some of the things I use daily. Plus the clothes seem like they would be uncomfortable and a pain!

When I first saw the book and the title I expected something different with a book titled SEAL's Oath. I figured it would be about some bad ass Navy SEAL. Boone was just a normal guy who loves the environment and is wanting to make the world a better place. There is nothing wrong with that, I think it's great. It's just not what I was expecting. So if you are looking for a hot military romance, this book isn't for you. The whole book takes place after he is out of the Navy. I love that he stood up to the guy funding the project when it came to Riley's wishes. That shows me that he is a great guy and would do anything for the woman he loves. So overall I liked Boone.

This is the first time I have read anything by Cora Seton, and I would read other books by her. She seems like a great writer, I just didn't care for this book.

5/5 Review: WILD THINGS by Jennifer Ashley

Wild Things is the next instalment in the Unbound Series by Jennifer Ashley. This is a great piece of writing that could be read in an afternoon. If you haven’t read the other books in this series you won't be disappointed, it can be read as a stand-alone novel; although I would recommend reading them all just because they are so good!

Wild Things evolve around the sexy Wolf Shifter, Mason McNaughton and his mission to find the very rare Shifter healer to perform a miracle on fellow shifter, Aleck who has gone feral leaving the shifter community two choices, perform a miracle and bring him back or kill him. He first has to travel to New Orleans to find a psychic who he has been told to see to show him the way to the healer.

Enter beautiful, but human Jasmine who doesn’t trust shifters at all. Jasmine spends her day trying to help others through her psychic abilities and lives in her late grandmother house. The house itself has a major attitude and isn’t afraid of showing its feelings. Jasmine knows there is change coming, but just doesn’t know how much it’s going to change her life.

Once Jasmine and Mason meet the sparks fly and the chemistry is blinding. I absolutely love how these two form their relationship. It isn’t boy meets girl that hates him, girl falls in love with him anyway scenario. Its told in such a way that Jasmine's hate for shifters is real, but shown to be not reason enough to resist each other, especially once certain things are explained.

There is the ex-boyfriend as the “nasty” factor in this story, but he is dealt with pretty quick and he actually makes way for the rest of the story to move ahead. The elusive healer is found and for the most part this story ends in a happy way. I could see future storylines forming towards the end of the book and look forward to see if any make it into the next book.

5/5 Review: Black Hills Desperado by D. L. Jackson

Xio Davis leaves her pack with a stranger that turns out to be a very bad mistake. He takes her down a road of crime. The FBI ends up catching up with her while she's robbing a bank. She decides to work alongside agent Marcus Cazador to take down the man that got her into this situation in return for not going to prison.

Along the way she tries to resist the feeling that Marcus is the man she is meant to mate with for life. They end up mating each other on their way to seek extra protection from her old pack she abandoned. Marcus helps her take down the men that are after her. He proves to her that he is truly the mate she wanted after all. Xio puts her life of crime behind her to start over fresh with her mate and twin unborn babies.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read but had a great storyline that I was interested to hear about. This was book three, but you didn't feel like you had missed out on too much by picking this book up and starting with it. I will however go back and check out the other books in the Black Hills Wolf Books. I loved the instant connection that the wolves have with their mate. No matter what background they come from, they find love in each other. Marcus and Xio are no exception to that.

5/5 Review: The Promise of Surrender by Liliana Hart

Mia Russo runs her pawn shop and is content with her life. The life she left behind was with Zeke McBride and her badge. The undercover lifestyle that almost got her killed. Then Zeke pops back into her life to try and bring down a local biker gang. Mia wishes it was any cop other than Zeke. He had picked his next assignment over her in the past and she doesn't want the passion they had shared to be welcomed back in her life.

I loved the story of Mia and Zeke! I know this was only a novella and really wished it was a full length book! I wanted to know more about their past and even more about their future together. You can tell by the chemistry they have together that they could have pulled off a longer story line. The characters were good. The way Mia felt about Zeke reminded me of someone that you had crushed on for a long time and just couldn’t get out of your head no matter how hard you try. Because when she saw him all those feeling started coming back and she couldn’t resist him. Honestly, I'm glad that she didn’t! The book ended and had me wanting more.

Miss Hart had masterly woven an action-packed novel with lots of love, danger,  and heat that will burn the sheets. It's simply wonderful.

5/5 Review: DIRTY SEXY SAINT by Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde

Samantha Jamieson is not your average rich girl, she's graduated with top honors in high school and college, enjoys volunteer work, and she does not see herself living the same life her mother did. So when she hears her father and mediocre boyfriend (who works for her father) plan her engagement and wedding she bursts in on them and refuses to submit to their idiotic plan. When her dad gives her an ultimatum, she leaves the life she's always known and is in for the adventure of her life.

Clay Kincaid had a rough childhood. But he never let that break him. His nickname is Saint Clay, he's known for giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, or giving them their second chance. When Samantha walks into his bar he knows she's completely out of her element, with her rich clothes, hair styled perfectly and manicured nails. What he didn't expect was for her card to decline, and tears in her eyes when he said he was sending her home in a cab. He also didn't expect to be the one to take care of her in her drunken state.

When Samantha wakes up in the morning she knows she got lucky in the white knight department. But how long will he be willing to help her for?

I enjoyed this book a lot! I loved that Samantha continued to surprise everyone (including myself) and how deep her passion went for the small things. I admired her. Clays love for his brothers is amazing, and his back story is sad, but I loved reading how each of them handled it, and dealt with the hand they were given. I can't wait to read each of their stories. If you enjoy a sexy romance, with a bit of suspense, then this book is definitely for you! This is the first in the series and I highly recommend picking this one up!

5/5 Review: MANACONDA by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott

Hunter Jordan is a serious rock star with a serious problem. When Rolling Stones interviewed him for their cover the article went great! The front cover however managed to capture all off him... and I do mean ALL of him. All 11 inches of his "Manaconda". Now all everyone can talk about is that one picture. Sure, it's great coverage for the band, not so much for Hunter.

Along comes Kennedy McManus, publicist extraordinaire. She's been hired to capitalize on the Rolling Stones cover and get as much good press in the band's short visit to her city as possible, the only problem... she's never met a man like Hunter. First he goes missing, then he feeds her the most amazing pasta she's ever tasted, then all hell breaks loose when he kisses her silly in front of hundreds of fans! Ok, so maybe that last part wasn't meant to be so public, but it was, and now her boss wants her to fake a relationship with Hunter to give him more press. WHAT!? she's not having it. Her attraction to the man is too high to risk such a ridiculous thing... what will she do??

Oh man, I LOVED this book! It was so well written and right up my alley when it comes to books! Taryn did a great job giving the characters depth and I loved them both. I found myself in their world and loved every minute of it! I couldn't put it down and will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in this great new series!

3.5/5 Review: The Darker Side of Pleasure by Eden Bradley

This book contained 3 stories. Each of which were hard to read for me, 2 of which I couldn't finish. I can't stand the sadist and masochist part of BDSM, and that's what each of these stories were about. Being beaten, publicly humiliation and submission/sexual slavery.

The first story is about a husband and wife who are on the edge of divorce and decide to try one last thing to keep their marriage alive. I read through most of this story, but it hit on a lot of personal demons in my own past and I had to stop because it became too hard to read.

The second story is of a young woman who desires pain and reaches out to a trainer in the Dominant world. The Dom kept 3 women in his home naked at all times. They had to do his bidding, including bathing the new girl. I was a little blown away by that. The only thing that kept my interest was the main male character, the Doms nephew. This man was also a trainer in the Dom world, but when he looked at her, he wanted to hear her speak, hold her and give her everything she desired. While yes, she desired the pain, she was not into the humiliation she was getting at his uncles hand. This story is what gave this book the 3 points for me.

The last story I unfortunately could not get far into. A sex column reporter was interviewing a Dom for her BDSM story, he talked her into participating in order to get a better story. I was intrigued, until he mentioned her being naked and doing everything he said o ey his every command, serving him drinks, bending over his knee. I couldn't read any further. I enjoy reading of bondage and toy usage... but, while I understand woman enjoy being a sex slave, and enjoy pain and those kind of things, I do not. I cannot read about it either. So while I give this book a 3/5, my review is only one side of the spectrum. Others may completely love these stories, they are written well and meant to be enjoyed, just not by me.

4/5 Review: LET IT RIDE by Vivian Arend

Maggie and Clay knew each other growing up, they always had a thing for each other and it almost happened. Except tragedy stuck and Clay chose family. Now she's back in their home town with her husband Cameron, and despite their past, Clay befriended Cameron and things were great. Until tragedy struck again. Now Clay doesn't know how to handle his feelings for Maggie as they continue to grow... what he doesn't know is her feeling for him have come back, and stronger than ever.

I enjoyed this book for the most part, the characters were great, and I loved Clays family! Vivian Arend definitely knows how to write a steamy love story. I just couldn't get over how fast Maggie moved on after the death of her husband. I understand she had previous feelings for Clay, but 4 months after the man she loved for 8 years tragically dies. Yeah right. It was hard to imagine and I couldn't believe the author made her move on so quickly. This story would have been a much better read if Cameron would have left and divorced her, not died.

If that part of the story doesn't bother you, then you'll love the story. Clay and Maggie do truly love each other, and prove they can over come anything if they just stick together.

5/5 Review: WILD THINGS by Jennifer Ashley

Wild Things is the next instalment in the Unbound Series by Jennifer Ashley. This is a great piece of writing that could be read in an afternoon. 3/5 Review: TAMING HIS MATE by M. Limoges

Taming his Mate is the 8th instalment in the Black Hills Wolves Series.  Although I have only read this story and one other in the series you don't feel like you are missing anything.  Each book in this series is written by different authors and can be stand-alone books.  I thought this book was a great little read.

Stephen Dorsett is the loveable but highly sexy wolf shifter who has been waiting his time for his mate to finally realise they belong together.  He doesn’t understand why she won’t submit to him, but has tried to be patient with her until she came around.

Kate Matthews knows that Stephen is her mate and would love nothing more than to acknowledge it to the shifter world, but she carries a secret that she believes makes her not worthy of being a mate to anyone let along the gorgeous Stephen.

As with any good book, secrets can only last so long and as with this book Kate's secret is finally revealed.  I won’t spoil it for anyone and I will let you read to book to find out her secret.  I will say that this book is not only a good read but also reinforces the fact that some secrets should never be kept.

4/5 Review: TAKE THE STORM by Rebecca Zanetti

Take the Storm is Episode 6 of the Rising Storm Series by NYT bestselling author, Rebecca Zanetti.  I found this book to be quite entertaining and easy to read.

Marisol Moreno owns Cup O' Joe Cafe and Bakery after giving up her dreams of going to college because she needed to stay home and raise her sister and brother after the death of her parents.  She tries to keep everyone in line and set a good example for her younger siblings.  Now a few years later, her siblings are getting older and trying to find their own way while she herself is trying to keep her relationship with Patrick more platonic that either of them want.

Patrick Murphy wants nothing more than to settle down with Marisol and he does his best to show and tell her every time they see one another.  He knows she worries for her siblings, especially now with things being complicated with her sister pregnancy and her brother bad choices.  His mission is to break through all the drama and show her that they deserve happiness too.

The characters are very well written and the story is wrote in such a way that it gives as much information it can within the small amount allowed for a novella.  I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.

4/5 Review: SHIFTING DESTINIES by Vella Day

Shifting Destinies is book 3 in the Hidden Hills Shifter Series by Vella Day.  I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but that didn’t seem to make a difference in understanding anything that was going on.  It was a very quick read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I loved the connection that was made between our two main characters, Wade Black and Emmaline Wilder.  They had such hot chemistry!!  The story was built around them, but was told in such a way that it made you endear to them, wanting to know what was going to happen next.

Emmaline has trouble accepting that mates exist, especially coming from the family background that she comes from.  Her family are prejudice against any shifters that is not wolf, and nothing terrifies her more than for them to find out that the shifter that has her heart is not a wolf.

Wade is a proud bear shifter and knows he has found his mate when he sees Emmaline, now all he has to do is convince her that mates exist and sometimes destiny knows best.  He has a plan and he only hopes destiny is truly on his side!

A great read and I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a book that they could read in a quick hour.

4/5 Review: ORYON by M.K. Eidem

Oryon is the next instalment in the Tornians Series by MD Eidem, It's a novella, but still gives a very strong storyline full of love, hate, angst, loyalty and betrayal.  I believe this book sets the scene for more books to come and I can't wait!

The story is set around the return home to Betelgeuse that Oryon is Lord over.  A lot has changed in their world over the previous few weeks with other dominant males of their linage, finding suitable partners from the distant planet of Earth.

Isis, who is Oryon's lady has grown with confidence, and now wants the freedom that her newly found earth female friends have.  Oryon realizes that this is what it means to have a full relationship, and gladly accepts that things have changed and they start to change Betelgeuse to a more welcoming place.

Although this story focuses on an older couple that usually would be skipped to the younger generation, I felt that showing the background of one of the more unusual older couples was great. It also shows the males and females reaction to each other, and also showing a glimpse of what could possibly be the future instalments to the series.

4/5 Review: MY HERO BEAR by Emma Fisher

My Hero Bear is the second instalment from the Bear Haven Series by Emma Fisher.  Although I haven’t read the first book in this series I found this book to be quite an easy read and never felt like I had missed so much that I didn’t understand the important issues within the series.

I loved the chemistry between Rory and Dylan.  Though you only get to see a small glimpse of their lives because of the length of the book, but it was so beautifully written that it’s enough of a taste to keep you going.

The story is about Rory who is in trouble and the only person she knows can save her is the very person she wishes she never had to see again, which is where Dylan enters the story.  Dylan on the other hand is such a mixed bag of emotions that you can’t help falling in love with him.  He wants only the best for his shifter family and friends, and is always pushing people away thinking that he is no good for them.

Dylan is an ex-military Special Forces has to try push through everything he has placed around himself in such a dense defence mode, that it seems like no one will break through.  Rory knows the only way she is going to survive is to break through.  She knows in her heart that if she doesn’t succeed she will not only die by the hands of those after her, but her heart will also wither because Dylan and her belong together.

4/5 Review: FIRE BOUND by Christine Feehan

Fire Bound is book 5 in the Sea Haven Series by the wonderful and talented author, Christine Feehan.  I have read many books from this author and she never fails to deliver.

Lissa Piner has a secret.  A secret that she has not shared with anyone else.  As a talented glass blower who is quickly becoming well known, it’s her trip to Italy that really makes her smile.  To everyone else she is there to make a masterpiece, but to Lissa she is there to finally avenge a terrible circumstance and get revenge from those who took her family from her.

Casmir Prakenskii is a trained assassin living off the grid.  He has been asked to escort Lissa and protect her but what he sees when he looks at her is his other half.  Guess we're not in Kansas anymore because things are about to get scorched!

I loved how the characters were developed to such a point you could feel all their emotions.  Casmir and Lissa burn up the pages, and by that I do mean in every sense of the phrase.  The sex scenes are long, but extra sexy and make you thirst for a cold drink.

The mysteries that are unfolded, the betrayal, the loyalties and every other little flicker of the heart makes Fire Bound sensational and scorchingly hot.  I LOVED it!
