Short-tempered, arrogant heart surgeon Jason Garcia grew up wanting a close-knit family, but believes he ruined those dreams when he broke up his marriage. The Half of Us by Cardeno C is a book about discovering who you really are and who you want to be.  Jason is a doctor who doesn’t do relationships.  He only believes in hook ups to relieve stress after a long day in surgery.  He is at a bar looking for his next hook up when he hears a laugh that captivates him.  He goes to the source and meets Abe.  Abe agrees to go home with Jason and they have an amazing night.  Jason is immediately besieged by thoughts of Abe and their night together.  He doesn’t have any way to get in touch with Abe and regrets it.  When he has to go to his daughter’s school for a conference with her math teacher he meets Abe again!  Jason is happy to see him again but feels that he has to hide the fact that they know each other.  When he realizes that Abe is sort of panicking he looks at his chest to make sure he doesn’t have an asthma attack.  Even then he doesn’t realize that he is already caring for Abe.  Before either one realizes it Abe is a big part of Jason’s life and he needs to decide if that also includes being a part of his children’s lives.  It has come to his attention that his son is acting out and has a lot of anger issues.  He doesn’t spend enough time with his children and decides that that needs to change.  All of his positive changes happen when Abe becomes an integral part of his life.  He becomes a better man because Abe has a positive influence on him.  I love how Jason is a little spacey about some things around him, he doesn’t even notice that Abe is living with him! HEHEHE!  He loves that Abe is there for him and they can give each other what they need.  I also totally recommend this author!
