This
book definitely starts off with an intensity and a humor that grabs
the reader and doesn't let go. It wasn't quite what I was expecting
and it shocked me but reeled me in. Luke was a powerful presence. It
is unusual for the hero to be of such lower social standing and I
found the oddity both entertaining and intriguing. I must admit that
the Duke creeped me out from the moment I met him and I couldn't
imagine staying in the same house as him for any length of time so
Janice Sherwood has much more fortitude than I do. I actually found
myself feeling sorry for the young heroine and the situation she
found herself in. The addition of baby animals is always a winning
addition for me and I enjoyed the reactions Luke had to them. I
enjoyed meeting her entire family and look forward to reading other
adventures they have appeared in, as I found each and every one of
them to be highly engaging.
