Review: More than a touch (A Snowberry Creek Novel) by Alexis Morgan

In the town of Snowberry Creek, there is always hope....

Wounded in combat, Leif Brevik is haunted by survivor’s guilt. For the first time in his life—unsure if he still has a military career in his future—he feels completely lost. So when a war buddy calls for help with restoration of their fallen brother’s house, he jumps at the chance to regain a sense of purpose.

Zoe Phillips is assigned to monitor Leif’s physical therapy while he’s in town. But she’s a former military nurse, and she senses that his wounds are more than just physical. As she pushes the handsome soldier to open up, the connection between them deepens beyond the professional facade she tries to maintain.

And as Leif begins to put down roots in her beloved hometown, Zoe realizes that maybe having him around is exactly what she needs to heal her own wounded heart as well....

More then a touch was a great book. The characters are so real they seem as if they could actually be your neighbors. Their lives are that of the everyday person. The setting was great and the town seemed like Anytown. USA. The romantic storyline with Leif and Zoe was even written in to seem natural and real. It is so nice to read of people falling in love without hating each other first as they do in most romance novels.
This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last. More then a touch reminded me of books written by Debbie Macomber. Common, everyday people living their lives in the best way they can. This was a great book and should be shared among family and friends.

This is a remarkable contemporary romance starring two battered souls. Though love heals much of their mental wounds, both realize that they will never forget. That extra measure is what makes a Alexis Morgan's novel so good. Her characters are real, filled with angst, and earn the audience empathy. Lief and Zoe are a joy to behold because even when love proves stronger than their nightmares  the memories of the tragic events that shaped them into beautiful people the reader comes to care about.

Mere words of praise cannot express the myriad of emotions I felt while reading this book. The heartrending images of Alexis Morgan's words conjured in my mind will stay with me for sometime. I applaud her style of storytelling. She never lets the reader rest. The next page must be read .....and the next.....and the next. Husband, laundry, and dishes are forgotten until the last page is turned. The sights, sounds, and people of Snowberry Creek makes you want to live there and become friends with the resident's of that peaceful town. The author's blending of war, combat, the loss of friends with the stark reality of trying to survive when you friends did not only adds to the intense effect of this story.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is a book that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
