A great short story that can be
read in one sitting. The words themselves are pure poetry. That's not to say
that there wasn't a hiccup here and there, but the writer definitely shows
a ton of promise. I'd give it a 4.5 simply because there were a couple of places toward the
end that I got really thrown off-still it's a decent short read.
John is cursed
at birth for a henious crime committed by his father against the daught of a
witch. Unfair though it may be he is born with metal spikes protruding from his
back and shoulders like a porcupine. When his mother didn't survive his birth
his father unable to bear the consequences of his actions takes his own life so
John is forced to live a mostly solitary existance. That is, until he decides
to take on an assistant to run his errands, and help clean his house. Hiring
Angela could just be the bet decision of his life.
